Volunteering at Warren Village
April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month!
Last year, 750 volunteers contributed over 15,000 hours of service. We are so grateful for the time, talent, and energy that volunteers have shared with our families.
To celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month, we are highlighting a few special volunteers. Click below to learn about their work and why they choose to volunteer with Warren Village.
Volunteer with Us
At Warren Village, we are able to provide important resources to our families with the help of hundreds of volunteers each year. If you have time to give, we have opportunities for you to help. We are looking for groups and individuals interested in making an impact in our residents’ lives. Please read below for more information on current opportunities and requirements for volunteers.

- Family and Community Nights
Great for groups! Hosts provide dinner and an activity for Warren Village parents and their children. These events are fun, energenic, and help us to continue a strong sense of community.
- Brainwave Tutoring
Do you enjoy working with kids ages 8-18? Do you have tutoring experience or love to help others learn? Join us on Tuesdays from 5:00pm-6:30pm for tutoring. As a volunteer, you will be matched with one student and continue to work with that student through the school year.
- Evening Childcare and First Step Evening Childcare
While our parents attend Life Skills Classes, Warren Village offers free Evening Child Care for resident children on-site, so that parents may attend class knowing their children are in good hands. Volunteers provide care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. This is a great activity for teens, families, and groups. Must be 14 years or older.
- Life Skills Class Facilitation
Warren Village resident parents are asked to attend three Life Skills Classes per month as a part of their program agreement. Facilitate a class or series of classes based on your profession, hobbies, passions and more!
- Kids’ Club Activity Leader
Lead an activity for our Kids’ Club after-school program, serving children 8-18 years old. Activity ideas include: music lessons, cooking, sports arts and crafs, teen time, etc.
As-Needed Volunteer Opportunities | Please inquire with the volunteer department if one of the following interests you at this time.
- Tutoring Adults
Meet with Warren Village parents one-on-one or in a small group to provide academic assistance.
- Special Events/Development Support
Help the Development Team with annual fundraisers, large mailings, securing donations, etc.
- Holiday Shop | December 2017
This event serves our families by giving them the opportunity to select gifts for their loved ones free of charge. Volunteers are needed for the weeks leading up to the event, the day of the event, and the week after.
- Skilled Volunteers
Do you have a background in maintenance, IT, carpentry, or another specialied field and an interest in volunteering? Let us know how you would like to help!
Volunteers are asked to complete a volunteer application and attend an orientation. All volunteers over the age of 18 submit a background screening through our partner, Verified Volunteers.
*Volunteers for Family and Community Night are not required to attend orientation or submit a background screening.
