Key Componentsof Our Program

Lasting and long-term personal and economic self-sufficiency requires both a healthy mind and body. As part of the Wellness Initiative each resident is required to participate in VitalU, a seven-week series of wellness related topics that focus on values, relationships, stress management, financial security, mental health, and conflict resolution – all with the goal of empowering residents to flourish beyond the doors of Warren Village.

In addition, through a longstanding partnership with the Healthy Beginnings Clinic of the CU School of Medicine, resident children are provided with free, onsite screenings, check-ups and preventive services each week. Through an additional partnership with the Mental Health Center of Denver, children are able to receive on-site, mental health and development supports.

Through adult education programs, career services and workforce supports Warren Village provides a comprehensive pathway for our residents as they make the journey to personal and economic self-sufficiency. Through our College to Career program, Advocates work with each resident to assess educational and career goals, support them in navigating the availability of scholarships and financial aid to colleges, universities and technical schools throughout the area. In addition, residents can attend on-site classes through an innovative collaboration with the Community College of Denver. As residents advance along this continuum, Advocates provide additional career consultation relative to the development of job searching, interviewing, resume and cover letting writing, and networking skills.
Each resident participates in financial literacy sessions with our on-site partner mpowered, supporting them in reducing debt, budgeting, saving and planning. In addition, community partners and financial institutions regularly provide Life Skills classes designed to reinforce the steps towards financial stability.

Warren Village has an active alumni association that supports families as they continue on their journey after moving beyond the doors of Warren Village. Members meet every month and are committed to promoting the mission of the organization; sharing success stories with current and future residents, and the community; and supporting current residents through volunteer efforts. If you are interested in joining the Alumni Association please email Annette Alexander.
