(April 12, 2019) – Jen Bagan is a dedicated and valuable volunteer here at Warren Village. It seems that working as the lead teacher in the Children’s Ministry at Park Church Denver is not enough to quell her passion for working with kids. She continues her work through community service as a regular volunteer with our Evening Child Care program. This program offers essential child care onsite, which enables our Warren Village parents to attend night classes and learn valuable skills, helping them work towards their goals of self-sufficiency.
Helping Kiddos Grow
Jen can speak to the value she adds best. “I have worked with children throughout my life and I desire to continue helping children grow academically, socially and emotionally.” She likes to focus on reading and music when she spends time with the Warren Village kids. In her own words, “Reading is a passion of mine so I love when the little ones snuggle on my lap and listen to me read a story.”
Volunteering is a Family Affair
Volunteers such as Jen are incredibly important to the success of our mission. “The most valuable thing I have learned as a volunteer is that it takes many selfless people who give their time so residents and their children grow towards independence.” Jen and her entire family embody that spirit; her husband serves on the Warren Village Board of Trustees and her son has volunteered at our annual Holiday Shop!
As for her takeaway from the relationships she builds with our residents Jen says, “I will miss them when they move on, but I will be happy at the same time because it means they have reached their goals!” Thank you Jen for the value that you bring to Warren Village as a volunteer!
